Tynium
Description
Tynium®is the preparation of Tiemonium Methylsulphate. It is an antispasmodic agent with anticholinergic effects used for the relief of muscular and visceral spasms.

Indications
Tynium®is indicated for visceral muscle spasme.g.
Spasmsof the intestine, biliary system, bladder and uterus

It is also indicated for
Gastroenteritis, diarrhoea, dysentery
Enterocolitis, cholecystitis, colonopathies, biliary colic
Mild cystitis, symptomatic nephritic colic
Spasmodic dysmenorrhoea

Dosage and administration
Tablet:
The usual dosage is 2 to 6 tablets (100 to 300mg) daily in divided doses as required.
Injection:
The usual dosage is 1 ampoule by slow IV or IM injection 3 times per day.
Syrup:
Children: 3 mL/ kg body wt dailyin 3 divided doses.
10 kg. wt. baby-2 teaspoonful 3 times daily.
15 kg. wt. baby-3 teaspoonful 3 times daily.
Adult: 5-15 mL 3 times daily.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation
Tiemonium Methylsulphate is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation, unless otherwise indicated by physician.

Side Effects
Tiemonium Methylsulphate may have some undesirable effects in certain individuals like risk of hypotension and tachycardia if ingested in high doses rapidly.

Contraindications
Tynium®should not be used in the following conditions: Glaucoma (acute pain of eyeball with vision disturbances), difficulty to urinate (disorders of prostate or bladder).

Precautions
Precautions should be exercised for treatment of patients with disorders of prostate, chronic bronchitis, coronary insufficiency, ambient hyperthermia, cardiac disorders, thyroiddisorders, serious renal & hepatic insufficiency.

Overdose
Occasional retention of urine may occur in case of overdoses.

Store in a cool & dry place. Protect from light. Keep away from the reach of children.

Presentation
Tynium®50 mg tablet: Each coated tablet contains Tiemonium Methylsulphate INN 50 mg.
Tynium®5 mg injection: Each 2 ml ampoule contains Tiemonium Methylsulphate INN 5 mg.
Tynium®syrup:Each 5ml syrup contains TiemoniumMethylsulphateINN 10 mg.
