Bonwell-D
Indications:
Calcium and Vitamin-D is used for the treatment of osteoporosis, osteomalacia, rickets, tetany, and parathyroid disease. Also used in raised calcium requirement for children and adolescents at times of rapid growth, inadequate intake of calcium in the diet due to malnutrition, prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, disorders of osteogenesis and tooth formation (in addition to specific treatment), latent tetany and during pregnancy and lactation. It is also used as routine supplement and phosphate binder in chronic renal failure.

Composition:
Bonwell-D: Each film coated tablet contains Calcium Carbonate BP 120 mg equivalent to elemental Calcium 500 mg and Vitamin D3 200 10 as Colecalciferol BP.

Therapeutic Class: Vitamin & Minerals

Dosage and Administration:
One tablet twice daily with food or as directed by the physician.

Contraindications:

Hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism Hypercalciuria and nephrolithiasis

Hypersensitivity to the component of this preparation Severe renal insufficiency

Concomitant digoxin therapy(requires careful monitoring of serum calcium level)

Side effects:

Common: Flatulence, diarrhoea, constipation, upper GI, discomfort etc. are rare manifestation. Hypercalcaemia due to prolong use has rarely been reported.

Rare: Bonwell-D is well tolerated. Mild gastrointestinal disturbances may occur.

Precautions: Caution should be taken in patients with Renal impairment, Sarcoidosis, Hypercalcemia and Hypercalciuria, Cardiac disease.

Drug Interactions: Concurrent administration of Thiazide diuretics may increase the risk of hypercalcemia. Calcium salts reduce the absorption of a number of other drugs such as Biphosphonates, Fluoride, some Fluoroquinolones and Tetracyclines.

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation: Bonwell-D should be used considering the risk benefit ratio.

Storage: Store at temperature of below 30°C, protect from light & moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Packs: Bonwell-D tablet: Each HDPE container contains 30’s/15’s tablets.
