Syrup: Each 5 ml contains: Thiamine Hydrochloride BP 5 mg, Riboflavin BP 2 mg, Pyridoxine hydrochloride BP 2 mg, Nicotinamide BP 20 mg
Injection: Each 2 ml ampoule contains: Thiamine Hydrochloride BP 50.00 mg, Riboflavin 5
Phosphate Sodium BP 6.40 mg (eq. to 5.0 of Riboflavine), Pyridoxine Hydrochloride Sodium BP 10.00
mg, Nicotinamide BP 100.00 mg

Description
Ziskavit contains the most important members of the vitamin B group in pure form and in therapeutically balanced proportions. The members of the vitamin B group contained in Ziskavit are components of enzyme systems that regulate various stages of carbohydrate, fat and Protein, metabolism, each of the components playing a specific biological role. Deficiency of B vitamin causes glossitis, stomatitis, cheilosis, polyneuritis, beriberi, pellagra and vascularisation of cornea

Indications
Ziskavit is indicated for prophylactic or therapeutic nutritional supplementation in physiologically stressful conditions. These include: Conditions causing depletion, or reduced absorption or bioavailability of essential B-vitamins manifested by glossitis, stomatitis, cheilosis, beriberi and polyneuritis, the maintenance of normal growth and health during the early days of children, apathy and anorexia in elderly patients, prevention of vitamin deficiencies, particularly when depletion is suspected pregnancy and lactation, patients on restricted diets.

Dosage & Administration
Ziskavit tablet - usual recommended dose is 1-2 tablet 3 times daily or as directed by the physician.Ziskavit Syrup- 2-3 teaspoonful daily or as directed by the physician.Ziskavit Injection - The solution for injection is applied parenterally - intramuscularly or more rarely, intravenously at a dose of 1-2 ml every day or every other day, the course of treatment ranging from 5 to 10 days.

Side Effects

Adverse reactions have been reported with specific vitamins and minerals, but generally at levels substantially higher than those in Ziskavit. However, allergic and idiosyncratic reactions are possible at lower levels. Iron, even at the usual recommended level has been associated with gastrointestinal
intolerance in some patients.

Contraindications
Ziskavit is contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to any of its component

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation
It is safe to use Ziskavit in pregnancy and lactation

Ziskavit tablet: Box containing 3x10's tablets in blister pack.
Ziskavitsyrup: Bottle containing 100 ml syrup.
Ziskavit Injection: Each carton contain 2x5's ampoule

Drug Interaction
As little as 5 mg pyridoxine daily can decrease the efficacy of levodopa in the treatment of Parkinsonism. Therefore, Ziskavitis not recommended for patients undergoing such therapy.
