Benvit B
DESCRIPTION:
Benvit B is a well balanced combination of four vitamins of B-Complex group which is for prophylactic & therapeutic nutritional supplementation in conditions requiring these vitamins. The B-Complex vitamins are necessary for the conversion of carbohydrate, protein and fat into tissue and energy. It is an ideal vitamin B-Complex syrup for all age groups.

COMPOSITION:
Each Benvit B film coated tablet contains: Thiamine Mononitrate BP 5mg Riboflavin BP 2mg Pyridoxine Hydrochloride BP 2mg Nicotinamide BP 20mg Each 5 ml

Benvit B syrup contains: Thiamine Hydrochloride BP 5mg Riboflavin (as Riboflavin-5 Phosphate Sodium) BP 2mg Pyridoxine Hydrochloride BP 2 mg Nicotinamide BP 20 mg

INDICATIONS:
It is indicated in vitamin B-Complex deficiency states like beriberi, wernicke’s encephalopathy, loss of appetite, cheilosis, glossitis, angular stomatitis, keratitis, seborrhoetic dermatitis, pellaragra, photophobia, peripheral neuritis & corneal vascularization. It is also indicated for supportive nutritional supplementation in conditions in which these vitamins are required prophylactically or therapeutically. These include gastrointestinal disorders, chronic alcoholism, febrile illnesses, prolonged or wasting diseases, hyperthyroidism, poorly controlled diabetes, inadequate diet, pregnancy, severe burns and recovery from surgery.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Adults & Children: 1-2 teaspoonfulls three times daily.
Infants: 1 teaspoonful daily.
Benvit B tablet: Usual recommended dose is 1-2 tablet 3 times daily. or as directed by the physician.

CONTRAINDICATION:
Hypersensitivity to any of its components.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Pyridoxine may increase the peripheral metabolism of levodopa, reducing therapeutic efficacy in patients with Parkinnon’s disease.

SIDE EFFECTS:
Adverse reactions have been reported with specific vitamins, but generally at levels substantially higher than those in Hexaplex. However allergic & idiosyncratic reactions are possible at lower levels.

PRECAUTIONS:
Certain conditions listed above in the indications may require additional nutritional supplementation. During pregnancy, for instance, supplementation with fatsoluble vitamins and minerals may be required according to the dietary habits of the individual. It is not intended for treatment of severe specific deficiencies. It should be given cautiously to patients taking levodopa as pyridoxine reduces the effect of levodopa.

USE IN PREGNANCY AND LACTATION:
The recommended dose should not be exceeded without medical advice.

PHARMACEUTICAL PRECAUTIONS:
Store in a cool and dry place, away from light. Keep out of the reach of children.
