Renep
Description:
Renep is a combination of three essential neurotropic vitamins (B1, B6 and B12) in high dosages. Analgesic properties have been noted when these vitamins are taken in high dosages together in this combination. There are many types of Vitamin B, but when there is pain, especially neurotic pain, this combination of vitamins works wonders, even when in combination with an anti-inflammatory prescribed by the doctor.
The vitamins B1, B6 and B12 are important with regards to the metabolism of the peripheral and central nervous system. Their effect on the regeneration of nerves has been shown in various investigations using these vitamins both individually and in combination.
VITAMIN B1 plays an important role in major metabolic processes.
VITAMIN B6 has an analgesic effect.
VITAMIN B12 ensures blood cell formation and prevents degenerative processes.

Side Effects:
Very rarely hypersensitive reaction and sensitivity disturbance may occur.

Contraindication:
It should not be used in patients on levodopa therapy and Hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredient.

Drug Interaction:
Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) reduces therapeutic effect of levodopa but it does not occur if a dopa decarboxylase inhibitor is also given. Neomycin, chloramphenicol, aminosalisylic acid & histamine H2 receptor may reduce Vitamin B12 absorption.

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation:
Oral tablet form is recommended but Injectable preparation is not recommended due to presence of benzyl alcohol. It is not known whether thiamine (Vitamin B1) is excreted in breast milk or not, but may be taken cautiously during lactation. Vitamin B6 & B12 have no adverse effect during lactation.

Precaution:
This combination (Vitamin B1+B6+B12) should be avoided in case of hypersensitivity to thiamine, cobalt or any other component of these ingredients. Cyanocobalamin should not be given before a diagnosis has been fully established because of the masking symptoms of sub acute degeneration of the spinal cord.
