Quinocin
Composition
Quinocin 500: Each tablet contains Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride USP equivalent to Ciprofloxacin 500 mg.

Indication
Quinocin is used in adults for the treatment of urinary tract infections, lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections and G.I. infections caused by susceptible gram-negative and gram-positive aerobic bacteria. It is also used for the treatment of uncomplicated gonorrhoea caused by penicillinase producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae.

Dosage And Administration
Adults :
The usual adult dose is between 500 mg-750 mg twice daily. In Respiratory infection the usual dose is 500 mg-750 mg twice daily. In infection of the bladder and kidneys, the usual dose is 250 mg-500 mg twice daily. In gohorrhoea, the usual dose is 250 mg-500 mg as a single dose. In gastro-intestinal infections, the usual dose is 500 mg twice daily. In intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections and in neutropenic patients the usual dose is 500 mg-750 mg twice daily. In infections due to Bacterium Neisseria meningitidis the usual dose is 500 mg as a single dose. Incase of inhalation anthrax exposure the usual dose is 500 mg twice daily.
Adult with creatinine clearance of 30-50 ml/minute can receive 250 mg-500 mg of Quinocin every 12 hours and adults with creatinine clearance of 5-29 ml/minute can receive 250 mg-500 mg every 18 hours.
