Pamix
Presentation
Pamix® Tablet: Each tablet contains Paracetamol BP 500 mg.
Pamix® Suspension: Each 5 ml suspension contains Paracetamol BP 120 mg.

Description
Pamix® contains Paracetamol which is an analgesic and antipyretic agents, specially suitable for patients who cannot tolerate Aspirin or other anlagesics. Paracetamol inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandin from arachidonic acid by COX-3 pathway.

Indications
All conditions requiring relief from pain, fever due to neuritis, neuralgia, headache, migraine, toothache, rheumatic disorder, cold, influenza, dysmenorrhea, acute & chronic inflammatory disorder.

Dosage & Administration
For Tablet :

Adult : 1-2 tablets every 4 - 6 hours to a maximum of 8 tablets daily.

For Suspension :
For Children :
Age less then 3 months 10 mg/kg body weight every 3 - 4 times
3 months - 1 year 1/2 -1 tea-spoonful every 3 - 4 times
1 - 5 years 1 - 2 tea-spoonful every 3 - 4 times
6 - 12 years 2 - 4 tea-spoonful every 3 - 4 times

Side Effects
Side effects are uaually heamatological reactions that have been reported. Skin eruption has also occurred. Symptoms of overdose includes vomiting, gastrointestinal heamorrhage, liver damage, cerebral edema & renal tubular necrosis. Hypoglycemia has been reported after overdoses of Paracetamol.

Precautions
Paracetamol should be given with care to patients with impaired kidney and liver function. It should be also given with care to patients taking other drugs that affect the liver.

Contraindications
Paracetamol is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to any of its component

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy & Lactation: Though Paracetamol appears in breast milk & crosses the placenta, it causes no harmful effect to breast-fed infants or fetus.

Commercial Packaging
Pamix® Tablet: Each box contains 20 X 10's tablets in blister strip.
Pamix® Suspension: Each bottle contains 60 ml suspension.

Drug Interaction
Domperidon & Metoclopramide accelerate the absorption of Paracetamol. Colestyramine reduces the absorption of Paracetamol. Prolonged use of Paracetamol possibly enhances anticoagulant effects of coumarine.

Storage
Store in a cool and dry place, protect from light and moisture. Keep all medicines out of reach of the children.
