Hemofix
1. What Hemofix is and what it is used for?
Ferrous ascorbate, a synthetic molecule of ascorbic acid and iron.Indicated in the treatment of iron deficiency anemia.

2. Before you take Hemofix

Do not take this medicine and tell your doctor if:
Hemosiderosis, hemochromatosis, hemolytic anemia.

Take special care with Hemofix
Care should be taken in patients who may develop iron overload, such as those with haemochromatosis, haemolytic anemia or red cell aplasia. Failure to respond to treatment may indicate other causes of anemia and should be further investigated.

Taking other medicines
Iron chelates with tetracycline, so this two product should not be taken within two hours of each other. Occasional gastrointestinal discomfort may be minimized by taking with meals. Absorption of iron may be impaired by concurrent administrations of penicillamine and antacid. In patients with renal failure, a risk of zinc accumulation may exist.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If pregnant, or planning to become pregnant or are currently breast-feeding please contact your physician, before taking or continuing the drug. Administration in first trimester of pregnancy should be avoided unless definite evidence of iron deficiency is observed.

3. How to take Hemofix?
Always use Hemofix exactly as your doctor has told you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

How much to take (Dosage and Administration)?
Adult & Elderly: One tablet a day before or after meal (food independent absorption) or as directed by the physician. In more severe cases, two tablets a day may be required as prescribed by the physician. Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established.

If you take more Hemofix than you should
If you have too much of this medicine, talk to your doctor straight away.

If you forget to take Hemofix
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop taking Hemofix
Do not stop taking this medicine without talking to your doctor. You should not stop taking Hemofix just because you feel better. This is because the problem may come back or get worse again.
If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Possible side effects (Adverse effect/Side effect)
The treatment of a neurotic patient was interrupted because of nausea and regurgitation. In pregnant women, the incidence of pyrosis and chronic constipation is slightly increased.

Tell your doctor if any of the side effects gets serious or lasts longer than a few days, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet.

5. How to store Hemofix (Storage condition)?
Store in a cool and dry place, away from light. Keep out of reach of children
