Calmi-M
Description:
Calmi-M is a combination of calcium, vitamin D3, magnesium, manganese, zinc, copper and boron. Calcium is needed for the formation of strong bones and healthy teeth. Magnesium helps in proper functioning of nerves and muscles, formation of bones and energy metabolism. Manganese and copper are involved in collagen and elastin production. Therefore, manganese and copper are essential for the integrity and elasticity of tissues, bones and organs. Copper is necessary for the maintenance of healthy nerve and joints. Zinc is necessary for proper growth and development. It also plays vital role in increasing immunity. Boron also maintains the bone health. Vitamin D helps to make strong bone and teeth by increasing the absorption of calcium in the body.

Indication/Use:
Calmi- M is indicated to maintain strong bones and teeth, as well as the health of the heart, muscles and nerves. It is also needed for bone development and constant regeneration of bone.

Dosage Guideline:
2 tablets per day, preferably 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening.

Side Effects:
Mild and transient effects of gastrointestinal disturbances, like constipation, flatulence, nausea, diarrhoea may be seen in some individuals. Following administration of vitamin D supplements may cause skin rash in some rare cases. Hypercalciuria have been seen with long term use at high dosage.

Contraindication:
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Periodic checks of plasma calcium levels and urinary calcium excretion should be made in patients with mild to moderate renal failure or mild hypercalciuria.

Drug Interaction:
Possible interaction with digoxin, antacid containing calcium, aluminium or magnesium, other calcium supplements, calcitriol or other vitamin D supplements; tetracycline, deoxycycline, minocycline or oxytetracycline etc. So, before taking Calmi- M, suggestions of the physicians are needed.

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation:
Calmi- M should be used as directed by physician during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.

Over Dose:
Symptoms of over dose may include nausea and vomiting, severe drowsiness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, metallic taste, stomach cramps, unconsciousness, diarrhea, weakness, headache, constipation, dizziness or irritability.

Precaution:
When hypercalcemia occurs discontinuation of the drug is usually sufficient to return serum Calcium concentrations to normal. Calcium salts should be used cautiously in patients with sarcoidosis, renal or cardiac disease and in patients receiving cardiac glycosides, Patients with a history of stone formation should also be recommended to increase their fluid intake.
